Network Access Control Overview

In order to protect assets connected to the RBHS network from unauthorized access, all wired ports on the RBHS network are subject to Network Access Control (NAC). NAC is a mechanism that identifies devices connected to the network and restricts access to devices that are not registered or authenticated.

Every authorized network device is registered in the NAC system.

When an unregistered computer is connected to the network, the NAC system will redirect the user to a website where the user can register the device.

Devices that cannot register or authenticate such as printers, scanners, card readers, etc. are added to an exceptions list by the Network Authentication Command Center (973) 972-1822.

Computers that are part of the CORE domain and devices that are part of the exceptions list are automatically authenticated; no user interaction is required.

Computers that are not part of the CORE domain will be prompted to manually authenticate every 12 hours.

For assistance with NAC issues, please open a Heat ticket by sending an email to or by calling the service center at (732)743-3200.

You can also contact the Network Authentication Command Center directly at (973)972-1822.
